History of St Mary

St Mary's is a pretty little building in a humpy churchyard. The Norman south door is not obscured by a porch and stands proud. There is a mass (or scratch) dial to the left and a possible consecration cross on the right jamb. The colour associated with the Virgin Mary is seen in the blue painted boarded ceiling of the chancel. The screen is 18th century with trefoil arches. A tiny chamber organ with a Regency case and pretty blue and gold pipes nestles next to the screen. The 15th century font has an octagonal stem and is undecorated.
